Sara Silkin is a director, choreographer, and writer. Born in Paris, France she grew up in Los Angeles. Sara received her B.A in World Arts and Cultures from UCLA and her M.F.A from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, where she was awarded The John Houston Directing Scholarship and Kodak grant. As a choreographer, she is interested in creating immersive performances (live or through virtual reality) that fully explore the spatial and physical possibilities of movement utilizing new technologies.
Now might be the right time to tell you: Sara is blind in her left eye and writes about the things she can’t clearly see– her memories. By going back and capturing the smallest gestures to the largest leaps of faith, her goal is to make films that move you viscerally through her unique approach to storytelling.
